Laurel Dentists Gave Away A Computer to a Kid for His Good Deeds

Dr. Maurice Miles and Dr. Daniel Melnick launched a Good Deed Contest in February of this year which ended on May 03, 2011.

The contest was open to any youth 18 years of age and under. Children were urged to join the Good Deed Contest by submitting an essay about a good deed they have done.

Dr. Maurice Miles and Dr. Daniel Melnick collected a large number of excellent essays about good activities performed. It was a close competition, but the winning essay went to 8-year old Eli Beninato, who was awarded the grand prize, a brand new laptop computer.

“What I did for my good deed was to rack gravel for an elderly community in Arizona. I was there visiting my grandparents,” said Eli, adding, “I also recycled by crushing cans, a lot of cans. It felt good to help a group of people that needed some extra help and to help keep our environment clean. I was offered money for my work but I declined. I did take a piece of candy though”.

Eli has also been helping a little girl with special needs that live in his neighborhood by walking her to school several times a week. “I also look out for Emma when kids tease her in our neighborhood. By helping and defending Emma I am hoping that more people will learn to treat her with respect and kindness. Kindness has to start somewhere, might as well be my neighborhood.” explains Eli.

According to Dr. Miles, “we all have an interest in providing a stable foundation of healthy values to our youngsters. We believe that children deserve a helping hand in reaching their goals by creating caring values.”

Laurel Dentists Donates Money For The Needy!

Do you know

there is a serious hunger problem in our country?

• CNN reports that 1 out of 6 Americans is going hungry.

• The demands in Food Banks have tripled and yet the food supplies have dwindled.

At the same time, New York times reports that less people are able to afford their insurance co-payments. They end up forfeiting their needed regular health care.

When Dental Care is delayed, Americans put themselves at risk of gum diseases which can cause tooth loss, diabetes, liver and heart problems, immune problems, pre-mature and still-born babies etc.

To help Americans to stay healthy, and to help the hungry, Laurel Dentists Dr. Miles and Dr. Melnick are sponsoring a Food Drive that provides:

$75.00

Dental Cleaning

+

FREE

Exam and Necessary X-rays

(reg. price: $398)
Exp. 11-30-2011

All $75.00 will be donated to

FREE Dental Treatment Days – Patients Statements

Dr. Miles and Dr. Melnick organized 2 FREE Dental Emergency Treatment Days where they treated people, who cannot otherwise afford dental services.

D. Cooped was helping them them so they can treat more people in need.

Here is what some of the patients said:

Thank you so much for your generosity. My filling broke in half about 2 years ago and I am grateful to be able to get it replaced.
Thank you very much for such a pleasant dental experience. The line moved very quickly and the service was excellent. I especially appreciated my filling being done at no cost. It was a godsend.
Dr. Melnick was the best dentist I have ever had, very well mannered and a pleasure. Thank you, Thank you for such a wonderful job. And the best staff ever! “I HAVE NO PAIN” God bless your team…. Smile.
Dr. Cooper was wonderful, magnificent! She explained everything and did not cause pain.
My experience was wonderful and the staff was great. No pain, very wonderful….. Thanks Dr. Miles.
Dr. Melnick was very helpful, gentle and humorous. He gave me immediate comfort. I have a fear of the dentist. I am leaving with less pain and discomfort. I look forward to returning for additional services. Great dentist. THANK YOU ALL!
Dr. Melnick, you are “SUPER”. Thank you so much for the work you’ve done.
Dr. Cooper helped me understand my dental issues and to be proactive.
Dr. Miles, I feel like I have a new mouth!
My visit was wonderful, great, superb, friendly, client oriented and very proficient. I am running out of adjectives to say. Due to finances I had to come. I haven’t had dental insurance since I was in the 10th grade. I help kids with Autism so it is nice to have someone help me. Dental health should be included into health care reform. More health care providers should be supported to be able to provide services like this to the community.
I saw Dr. Miles and he was so nice and professional. I need more work done and they gave me the option to go to Howard University. Transportation would be a problem and I would prefer to come here.
I am not fearful of dentists; I am here for financial reasons. I need to get on my feet and get a job, so today really helps.
Dr. Melnick has taken care of a problem I was unable to fix for a long time. His kindness was greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your services.
